Knowing your current state will support you and your change champions to identify and develop your vision for the future. An organisation’s vision is a description of how you would like the culture to be. It can be a very powerful way to motivate, inspire and build desire and energy in your teams and will support the development of an organisational philosophy from which the organisation’s culture, processes and systems will be developed. It paints a picture for others.
Understanding your future vision helps you to make sense of the changes that are required and once you know that you can work out the impact of the changes on your staff team, people living with dementia and support people/ families. Who will be impacted? How will they be impacted? Are the changes linked to behaviours, systems, processes? Will there be an impact to structure, pay or role descriptions? And what is the time frame for the culture change program?
Most importantly understanding your vision for the future will enable your organisation to work out how you will know when you have got there!
