People need to have an opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills required to support them to do their jobs differently. The same is true of those who drive and experience change especially culture change as for some, it can feel very scary and uncomfortable.
Supervisors/leaders may also need additional education in leading people through change so they can fully support people. This alongside person centred training and other key sessions will ensure your staff feel able to implement the changes required.
Person centred approach education can be experienced in a variety of ways; self-reflection journals, group reflection/learning circles and supervision sessions are also useful ways to learn new things alongside formal workshops. It is also helpful for staff to have access to the ‘change agents’ and their ‘supervisors’ for support and ad-hoc learning and to be given the opportunity to practice new skills and knowledge in the work place.
